Why Education is the First Step Toward Relief
When families begin exploring home health care services, the process can feel overwhelming. Between sorting through waitlists, figuring out costs, and dealing with the stress of daily caregiving, many women — especially daughters, wives, and sisters — are left carrying the emotional and practical weight. The Aging Your Way Expo, happening on September 27, 2025, was created to change that.
This event isn’t about selling services. It’s about providing education, stress relief, and personalized care solutions so families feel empowered rather than lost.

The Caregiver Burden Families Carry
Caregivers in Nova Scotia often take on the majority of support for aging parents or differently abled loved ones. Research shows that women aged 50–65 are most likely to juggle multiple responsibilities — managing activities of daily living, coordinating medical appointments, and maintaining their own households — all while trying to avoid burnout (Canadian Institute for Health Information [CIHI], 2022).
Studies confirm that caregiver burnout is one of the leading reasons seniors enter long-term care earlier than needed (Williams et al., 2021). The problem isn’t lack of love — it’s lack of education, guidance, and support.
What Makes the Aging Your Way Expo Different
Unlike typical health fairs, the Aging Your Way Expo is designed with families in mind. Our focus is education-first. You’ll find:
Workshops and presentations on navigating healthy aging, financial planning, active living and more!
Practical demonstrations on mental health, local supports and daily living activities
Access to professionals who can explain complicated systems in plain language
Community partners showcasing resources for seniors, families, caregivers and persons living with disabilities
This event is more than information — it’s a safe space to ask questions, share stories, and leave with real solutions.
