I’m originally from Caledonia, a small town in Queens County, and caring for others has always been a big part of who I am. I followed that passion by becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse after completing my diploma at the Nova Scotia Community College in Lunenburg. I was incredibly proud to receive the Best Bedside Nursing award there—it felt like a real affirmation of what I love most about this work: connecting with people.
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve had the chance to work in many different healthcare settings. I started out in acute care, where I learned how to stay calm under pressure and care for patients with really complex needs. Eventually, I felt called to take on more leadership, so I stepped into managing a primary care clinic, and later, a long-term care facility. Those roles let me bring together my clinical experience and my love for team-building and community care. I’ve always tried to lead with empathy, stay curious, and keep learning—because healthcare is always evolving, and so am I.
Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time with my family or out in nature—especially when I’m with my horses. They’ve taught me so much about being present, patient, and intuitive. I carry that same mindset into my work. At the end of the day, I truly believe that trust, respect, and kindness are the foundation of every strong relationship—whether it’s with a client, a colleague, or anyone else.
