About the Role
As a Scheduling Coordinator, you will play an integral role in delivering critical homecare services for Nova Scotians. You’ll be responsible for efficiently matching caregivers with clients, maintaining communication with families and staff, and ensuring continuity of care.

Hours of Work
Monday to Friday (daytime and evening rotation hours)
Weekend and holiday relief (12-hour shifts) on a rotation
Predictable scheduling with supportive coverage for time off

Primary Responsibilities
Use scheduling software to coordinate caregiver schedules according to client care plans and preferences
Communicate accurate, timely schedules to caregivers
Manage last-minute scheduling challenges and fill shifts promptly
Maintain up-to-date caregiver availability and client records
Build strong, professional relationships with caregivers, clients, and families
Communicate schedule updates clearly and with empathy
Collaborate with internal teams to share feedback and resolve issues
Document all updates and critical information accurately in the system
Ensure continuity of care and client satisfaction through proactive scheduling
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of scheduling or coordination experience (required)
Strong computer skills and confidence using scheduling tools and mobile apps
Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service etiquette
Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Self-directed with excellent time management abilities
Healthcare or homecare experience considered an asset
Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required before hire

Experience
Scheduling or coordination: 1 year (required)
Healthcare scheduling: 1 year (preferred)
